eBook Conversion
Auro e-Books offers a conversion service to any e-book format from virtually any format – Word, Word Perfect, Ventura, PDF, Quark, InDesign, XML or HTML, among others.
Our e-books are compatible with the ADE, Sony Reader, Kindle, iPhone, iPad (iBooks) and most desktop readers, depending on the customer’s requirements.
We ensure that their content is properly prepared to be distributed as eBooks and are fully optimized to the reader or devices specified by the customers.

Rates are per page of the finished book (about 300 words per page). Minimum charge: 30 USD per book.
Fixed packages for books up to 250 pages: Simple 69 USD, Medium 125 USD, Complex 199 USD — ePub + Kindle files, validated ePub, clickable table of contents.
Proof-reading and cover design are quoted separately.
Auroville Author Support
For Auroville residents and Auroville projects we work on different terms — this is our contribution to the community we belong to.
- Conversion at half of the published rates (a 250-page simple book: 34 USD instead of 69), minimum charge 15 USD per book.
- Our share of the sales income is 15% instead of 25% — the author keeps 85%.
- Where a book is intended for Auroville and is not for sale, the conversion is done without charge.
The programme is limited to 6 discounted books and 2 free books a year, so that paid orders are not delayed. Please mention that you are an Auroville resident or an Auroville project when you write to us.

eBook Publishing Author Royalties Scheme
Auro e-Books withholds 25% and pays the author 75% of the revenue received by Auro e-Books from e-book sales — that is, after the store’s commission. For example, Amazon pays 70% of the list price, and that amount is what is shared. Royalty schemes of other online stores may differ and have to be confirmed separately.

These terms apply to e-books. For printed editions the author’s share is calculated as the retail price minus the printing cost and the channel discount.
- Payment of royalties will be done quarterly, with statistics on book sales if authors payment (with exclusion of Auro e-Books fees) is or above 100 USD (or 6000 Indian rupees), if it is less then only statistics on sales will be provided on demand and payment will be postponed till the next payment term.
- Payment for e-book conversion is be calculated separately according Auro e-Books book conversion rates and is not part of Auro e-Books publishing contract.
Contract Terms
Agreement between the author and Auro e-Books is valid for 1 year from the day of online publication, and will be automatically renewed or cancelled on demand by author or rights holder.
Auro e-Books will follow the same calculation on other book stores (its own Auro e-Books store, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Google Books, Kobo and other e-book retailers)
Payment Terms
- Payment process will be initiated upon presentation of a valid invoice (via email) to the Customer;
- Supplier’s preferred payment method is via Paypal or Wire Transfer.
